Amenorrhea & Oligomenorrhea
Amenorrhea is a medical condition characterized by the absence of menstruation in women.By improving blood flow to the pelvic region, Raja Pravartini Vati promotes menstruation and helps with the release of menstrual blood.Some of Its components like Kasis bhasam and Asafetida is studied to possess effective emmenagogue property. This activity of herbal ingredients also treats Oligomenorrhea. Amenorrhea is a medical condition characterized by the absence of menstruation (periods) for at least three consecutive menstrual cycles.Amenorrhea occurs because of disorders in the female reproductive organs, or glands which regulate the hormone levels.
Causes of amenorrhea are the intake of some medicines, birth control, stress, malnutrition, hormonal imbalance of women (PCOS/PCOD, thyroid disorder, etc.). Other causes include defects in the female reproductive system.
It can be administered along with Kumaryasava, Dashmoolarishata for improved efficacy.
Raja Pravartini Vati should be given until the patient gets her period.
When the patient receives the period with normal flow, then it should be discontinued for 10 days, then again it should be resumed. This should be done for at least 3 to 6 months to regularize the menstrual cycle.
